New Mexico High-Performance Homes support builders who construct energy-efficient single-family homes that exceed standard codes.

Benefits

Participating builders can get program support and rebates for qualifying homes, including:

  • Up to $3,000 in rebates per home
  • Free sales and technical training courses

  • Choice between two ways to earn rebates: Prescriptive or Performance (Whole House)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Single family new homes located within New Mexico Gas Company service territory
  • Homes completed within the applicable program year*
  • Participation by enrolled builders and HERS Raters

Rebates Available

Prescriptive Path

This product-based approach allows builders to earn incentives for installing qualifying high-efficiency natural gas equipment and other above-code measures.

Getting rebates is easy. Visit the prescriptive online portal to submit an application, photo(s), purchase receipt(s), and AHRI certificates. *

Performance (Whole-House) Path

This whole-home approach allows builders to earn incentives based on overall performance that exceeds code requirements, as verified through approved testing and documentation.

Get Rebates in Four Easy Steps

  1. Select a RESNET-accredited HERS Rater to maximize performance rebates. 
  2. Build homes according to the measures you select. 
  3. Complete on-site inspections and home performance testing with your HERS Rater. 
  4. Work with a HERS rater to have your home submitted.

*Qualifying products and homes completed by a registered new home builder between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027, are available for rebates through our 2026 program. Rebate applications must be received by April 30, 2027. See Program Terms and Conditions for additional details.

 

How to Participate

  2. Select the incentive pathway that best fits your project
  3. Construct and verify qualifying homes
  4. Submit required documentation for incentive processing
